Well, today is a big day - I, along with one of my customers, Tonye H, head off to SanDiego, California. We are heading out on the Stampin Up! week-end getaway trip. I had told all my customers at the beginning of the year that I was not interesting on going on the cruise, if I earned it, so I was going to offer a chance for one of them to actually earn a spot to go with me on the getaway trip, if I earned it myself. The customers earned point by attending eventd, their own purchases, parties they booked, and friend referrals. I had four ladies that tried to earn this, but only one actually got to 5,000 points (the amount I set for them to earn) You had to get to those points or you could not go - just like it is with us as demonstrators. Actually, if no one had earned this trip, I would have just cashed out on the big trip myself, as I did earn the cruise, but just don't get excited at getting sea sick for a full 24 hours! Happens every time. So Tonye earned the opportunity to travel with me just about a week before the deadline of June 30. We will fly out there today and I hope to get some pictures up on Saturday to share - I do have another Saturday with Steve up and ready for you - just in case I can't get internet service or if something else goes wrong, as is usually the case! Hopefully I can find something for the other three ladies who did not earn the trip to bring back a little something for them.
So ofcourse we will be participating in swaps - actually Tonye has made a card to participate also. I'm participating in three (glutton for punishment I guess) so I had to make a total of 50 cards for this trip! I am participating in two wow swaps and I'll be sharing those with you today and tomorrow - however, my other swap is with the Remarkables and I'll be using it for October's stamp camp - so won't be sharing it here on my blog. Here's one of the wow cards:
What makes a wow card? Well, the only requirements were more than one layer and at least one embellishment - whew - looks like I got that covered!!! There is a LOT going on with this card. The Sweather weather designer series paper, the vintage brads and burlap, the artisan punch (shrunk the punched image with it) , and some glimmer paint to give it some sparkle. Wanted glitter but I hate traveling with glitter on my cards - glitter ultimately gets on everything when you unpack! Hopefully everyone will be happy with this swap - although I think tomorrow's is my favorite! See you then. and we're Off to San Diego!!!
Love this card too sissy....Wowzer...your on a create fest!!
