While chatting with one of my customers last week she asked about "tricks" to use with glossy paper. So, I've been digging out some items - over the week-end I wanted to try some ideas out to see about using some of the new colors. Not sure I'm sold on this one yet - but I did warn you on Monday that this week's cards were going to be hmmm, a little different. This one is no exception to that rule:
Istarted out with a piece of white glossy paper - then I stamped the middle of the hisbiscus from Greenhouse Garden in versamark all over the front - then brayered cherry cobbler ink over that - technique called versamark resist - I wiped the images a little with tissue to make the white stand out a little more - then I stamped one of the tiny flower centers in black to add a little more interest. Then on another piece of glossy I stamped the flower images in cherry cobbler - and centers in black - this ink dries a different color on the glossy but I seldom use glossy just to "stamp" on - so tried it this time - gives a nice, crisp image that seems to pop a little more than regular white. Then had to add some "interest" pieces. So. . pulled out black and cherry cobbler again - curly label cut in half and one of the diamond pieces from the lattice die cut. I could not decide what "kind" of card to make this - birthday, sympathy, etc. so left it blank for something to be decided later! Sorry for the glare - but the first picture didn't focus so this was the next best one! Guess that's why they call it glossy - it has some glare to it! That's all for today - thanks for coming by!!!!
