WEll, it is another quiet day - mostly because it is too cold to venture outside anymore than absolutely necessary. Last Night I had a stamp camp in a nearby town and the trip there and back was quite interesting. Interesting meaning snow, ice, incredibly slow drivers. I have nothing against driving slow in snow - however, when you are barely clearing 15 mph. it is a good idea to get off the road because you then become more of a hazard yourself. Anyway, everyone showed up that had said they would, which I thought was amazing - considering it is a 45 minute drive for me - I really appreciate it when people make that extra effort to show up!!
We did have some difficulty with one of the cards we made and I would post it - but then it would not be a surprise to others that still have stamp camp this month - and I do like the anticipation of what the cards will be. I had heat n stick powder, along with a versa mark pad and then glitter - all to use to make candle flames. It should have looked really nice, but I just could not get the versamark and heat n stick powder to work right. I had tried everything I could possibly think of - but nothing seemed to work. This morning I called Demonstrator Support at Stampin Up! and found out that with the cold weather there need to be adjustments - my inks, cardstock, powders all were cold - until they could get really warm again they were just not going to work - So live and learn.
I'm going to do this as a reminder on here for classes that are coming up in the very near future. Next Wednesday, January 21 I will have a "punch class" We will be making about 6 punch images that can be put on 6 x 6 pages or added to already existing punch books from previous classes. The cost for this class will be $10
. The card shown here uses one of the punched images - I got this idea from our own Demonstrator website - Stampin UP! is really great about giving ideas - they have a complete gallery to look at and they have just started putting more demonstrator ideas up - these are only viewed by current Demonstrators. This takes a lot of the work out of coming up with ideas. I need an idea for some sort of greeting for the front of this card, however. Any suggestions? If you can come up with some greeting that is a current Stampin Up! greeting for this card - simply leave your suggestion in the comments box - it must be a current stamp of some form in the Stampin Up! catalog - I can always go with Happy Birthday or something else safe and mundane but maybe you have a better suggestion from the choices in the catalog. I have no idea what the extra little "doo da" is on the card front - unless it is something on the scanner face - probably dried ink from a previous picture - so will have to correct that before the next scan. I need a check list each time I work on here!!
This little guy is just the cutest - this idea came from Kathy J - otherwise known as KJ, who is in the Remarkable Stampers, like I am. We both attended J. Wakeland's RAD event and exchanged valentine cards - this was hers and I just love this little dog. I will be using this cute little punch guy in the class also. There will be several others but ofcourse, they shall remain a mystery!
Also, don't forget the Valentine favor class - this will be offered the morning of February 7. You will have a choice of making all the items pictured below - or choosing one item and making several of them - all depends on what your need is - The ladybug would be the most expensive (I'm not talking extreme expense here) because it requires several pieces of cardstock to make - but for some of you that are home room moms or Sunday School teachers and you want to do something for your students - this is a great way to make these - If you are interested - contact me to let me know - or just leave a
comment so I can get in touch with you. That's all the chatter for today. Stay warm.
