End of the week

Once again to the end of the week and once again rain and storms in the forecast - woohoo - I think tomorrow is supposed to be nice.  Did get the forest mowed around the house last night!  However, I think the mower would have worked better with chains through all the muddy spots.

Today's post will be part of a two part post.  First I have some pictures and these were the items that went to my hostess last night (Hi Michele!)  I hated to give up the cards, but then I can always make some more - because now I have them caught on here and can go back and look at them.  Later today, after the fog lifts here, I will put the 2nd part of the post - a little guesswork for all you blog hoppers.  I'll post the picture and you can try to guess what my hubby is going to use these for.  Now the girls for the $1,000 party that are coming Saturday will have to put their guesses in to qualify before Saturday because I am hoping that this project will be completed Saturday while they are here, if so - they will love sneaking out to get a look every so often.  So for the pictures:

This one is a post it note covered using our designer paper and chipboard.  The base for the cover is the heavier white pieces that come with the dsp to keep it nice and flat.  I believe in trying to use everything I can.  The pen is also filled with dsp to match.  That's the first thing Michele got but there is one more.

Once again I pulled out the envelope trick - this time I used the large carousel note envelopes and fastened them together (they are in the background picture.  These make a great holder as it is nice and big - then I made two coordinating cards, which are the ones I hated to give up - that great blue and brown again using the Parisian Breeze paper.  However, I did leave them at Michele's home for her.  This is such a great trick to use for gift giving.  Each one takes on a personality of its own. 

That's all the pictures for now - I'll add the other pictures later today, probably during the afternoon - I must go get food and house all prepped and ready for the gals for the all day stamp a thon tomorrow!  Not time for rest today!!! Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening

So - Good whatever it is as you stop by Country Roads - was watching the news this morning with my hubby while we ate breakfast and there is a new advertisement for West Virginia.  It plays a song that we have on a CD, which is all W.Va. songs.  Actually, it is for the Lottery, which I don't advocate, but the song is excellent and the pictures for the background as the song plays are perfect.  Hmmmm, wonder if I can get that playing as background here while people visit the blog?  As I have always enjoyed music, I usually have a varied selection of cds playing in my car when I'm on the road, which seems to be all the time anymore!  My favorite one is the W.Va. CD. Well, no good stories here from the Hamrick Ranch this morning - everyone seems to have behaved themselves yesterday.  Stray dog showed up here shortly after midnight and "shook" things up - and note that husband was the one who got up this time to see what was the matter!  After some teasing from my BIL about how I'm always up first - I stubbornly stayed in bed until dh finally got up to see what all the barking was about ;)  Other than that it is quiet here!  Yeah! 

This morning I had the dilemma of what to put on here - I actually had several things I wanted to post - just can't put everything up here that I want to - there are still many birthday cards to put up - want to put my one of my Sister in laws cards up, plus I made some on my own yesterday I want to share - rare that I am that far ahead!!  So, I'm going to do one birthday and one of the cards I'm giving away tonight at stamp camp.  One of my regular ladies had surgery last week and she very seldom misses - she's about the same age as my mom and she is a sweet thing.  So I made this card for her for everyone to sign tonight.  Check out the glasses on this little owl - that is using rhinestone brads - simply popping out the rhinestone and wiring the two brads together to form the glasses!  Cute!  This was demonstrated at Regionals this week-end.  Then the owl is the chipboard from Oh So Tweet (I think that is correct) and I covered it with dsp - note to yourself that you should be looking over the dsp because there is a special coming up in May for it but that's all I can say!  Then those great corduroy buttons - I'm throwing those things on everywhere!  Obviously I'll be hand delivering this card this evening!  Consequently, I will not have to worry about any extra postage costs!  I'm sure when Bev sees this one - she will love it!!! We used this owl in this week's scrapbooking group and added a grad hat for a graduation page - I'll be sharing that page in May during scrapbooking month! 

Then the next card is from Jill S. She knows I like this set:  Crazy for cupcakes and she actually sent me two cards because she could not decide which one to send!  Gotta love two cards for your birthday instead of just one!!

She even put frosty icing on these little buggers - matched the cupcake liner to the dsp in the background!  Good Job!  Here's a little advertising for her also - she is in my downline and if you need any kind of wedding invitations, shower, or favors of any kind - this is the gal to talk to - she's zeroing in on her business with that specifically.  Alright must get to work in the real world - will tell you that while I was waiting for these pictures to load I heard a wood thrush here in the background - that is my favorite song bird to hear in this area - first I have heard of him this spring - and my bats are somewhat back - I'm keeping a close eye on them because of a disease that I've read about earlier, based on a referral from one of my regular commenters on here - Cass - and her brother in law's work with bats.  Since the temps are warming up these week-end - can you say Hallelujah?!  I hope to see some more of our bats out and about.  Thanks for stopping by!!
