This was another one of those week's with lots of birthday cards. I think I even missed sending one, plus it is Father's Day and then it will be my dad's 90th birthday so man, I have to cough up some good cards over the next week!!!So I looked up a few new techniques and this one is a new one that I've been wanting to try:
Now it doesn't show extremely well, but this has some dimension on those letters - the HUGS are 5 layers thick - so it stands up on the front of the card - not enough that I'll have to pay extra postage - but enough that it looks pretty cool.
Now I can kind of explain this - but basically I stamped the images first - on two different pieces of cardstock(one vanilla and one white) - then cut the letters out of those two pieces - matched them up and
put contrasting letters on top of a stack of 4 layers of thick white cardstock letters, so that the letters stand out on the card. The stamped images matched up - voila! Pretty cool - I need to experiment with some other images on this and hoping to maybe do this with my hostess group of ladies in July.
Then maybe I can at least put up some pictures - that would help with the explanation!!! However, for today - this is it - We have a fun event to attend today - maybe it will be blog worthy-if so - I'll share it soon-although I already have something ready for Saturday this week and then we have another event on Saturday to attend - so lots of pictures up and coming. Off to get things done here in the house - have a great Thursday!
Really interesting card technique but looks way too difficult for me.
Instead, I'll look forward to your Saturday post.
