Obviously I was floundering for a title for today's post! and today's post will not actually be a "tip" but it also isn't a technique. So I did not know what to call this. Let me explain: During our team meeting this past week-end one of the girls asked how to do the flower that was in the Sale a bration mini:
So I made a call to Stampin Up! to find out how to make this cute little flower and then proceeded to do so - finding out well after the phone call that there was a video on line! Oh well - it really is quite easy with a very limited amount of "sewing" - don't give up already - just wait and see.
What you will need to start: 2 pieces of fabric, I used Twittlepated Fabric from the Occasions Mini. They need to be 8 inches long and one should be one inch wide, the other 3/4 inch wide.
Next you need to cut with a pair of scissors 3/4 of the way down each of these pieces - making them look like a wide tooth comb:
After cutting all the way down each piece, go back and cut at an angle on each piece of the "comb"
The next step is to take a threaded needle (gasp!) and do a basting stitch (a nice loose stitch, easy to do - really!) all the way down each of the strips and then gather them together
This is what they look like after they are gathered and "tied off" to form a little flower circle. Then simply layer them over each other and put a brad in the middle and ofcourse I used one of the FREE brads you can get in the brad container with your sale a bration purchase!
Here's the card I made - although this was the first one I did and I used some of our fabric from the holiday mini of last year, not the twittlepated fabric.
You can add a lot to a flower card or keep it simple - I chose simple. I used our blossom builder punch to make the leaves and simply cut a strip of Old Olive green for the stem. Obviously really easy and simple to try. So here's hoping I see some of these done soon by some of my ladies. Whew - one of these tutorials down - now next week I'll work on the other one. That's all for today - see you tomorrow.

I love this card. So pretty and unique.

Very nice tutorial. You did a great job, and it certainly is a lot easier than what we were thinking.
It turned out to be a pretty card.
